The Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show will be held in that south Florida town on January 28th. We are big fans of this show; a great field of entries, nice location, and a good cause. What’s not to like? As in past years, Rising Into History will have our tent set up in the far left corner of the park. We’ll have a motorcycle or two on display and lots of information about our concours d’ elegance. Stop by, say hello, and you can even register for the show and for our always sold out Friday evening Grand Marshal Dinner. …

Of Replicas and replicas

Chairman RIH 2016

While walking the field at this year’s Riding Into History, I noted a very nice OSSA flat track bike, a Dick Mann Replica. My companion remarked that she was not too impressed as it wasn’t the real thing. But it is. A bit farther along we came upon a Honda GP replica. I’ve seen numerous people swan over it believing they were looking at rare factory racer. All good fun, but what’s real, what’s not? It’s …

Chris Alley from Ace Vintage Motorcycle Specialists, delivered the Kawasaki to Phiil Ridgdill. Wayne picked it up from Phil, the original and only owner of the bike. Wayne, Chris and Phil spent the afternoon talking about Phil’s racing, the Kawasaki and the work performed at Ace to bring it back to life. Phil is still a very rapid rider, as those of us who ride with him can attest. He is a great friend of Riding Into History, and …

Riding Into History, America’s original and longest running motorcycle Concours d’Elegance, last Saturday, May 21st, celebrated its seventeenth anniversary with another spectacular event at St. Augustine, Florida’s beautiful World Golf Village. The weekend began with a sold out fund raising dinner to benefit the K9’s For Warriors, an organization training rescue dogs as service animals for returning veterans with PTS. Shari Duval, founder of the K9’s offered very emotional off the cuff remarks. In the past three years RIH has raised over 80K for the K9’s. On a beautiful Florida Saturday that defied the dire weather forecast, some 270 antique …
