Riding Into History’s 8th annual poster for the year 2007.  The motorcycle is a mid-sixties Honda RC 174, 350cc, DOHC, in-line, six cylinder, factory racer. Made in Japan.


An allegorical illustration, loosely based on Japanese mythology & literature, “The Goddess Benten” & “The Seven Samurai”. “Benton (or Benzai) was the only female of the Shichi Fukujin (or Seven Deities).She is said to have married a dragon,mi in order to render him harmless. Bento and her Six cylinder Honda combine to make “The Seven” as they do battle with a dragon. The Seven Samurai roamed Japan, protecting the weak & defenseless. An American film, “The Magnificent Seven” starring Yul Brenner & Steve McQueen was a version of this work.
