Riding Into History will be busy the next few months.  We kicked off promoting our 16th year at the BMWNEF Florida’s Coolest Winter Rally at Camp Blanding, Fl., last weekend.  We popped popcorn for donations to our charity K9s for Warriors.  It was a lot of fun and we received some great donations! Registration is now open online for the Grand Marshal Historic Vintage Lunch Ride.  The ride takes place on Friday, May 22, 2015.  There is a rider’s meeting 9:30am at the Renaissance Hotel back parking lot.  Ride through back roads of Florida to Corky Bells in Palatka.  Ride your vintage bike to this delicious destination along with Dave Aldana, our 2015 Grand Marshal. The ride leaves from the Renaissance Hotel parking lot.  The cost is $20.  For the purposes of this ride, vintage motorcycles will be 1990 and prior years.  PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED Registration is now open online for the Grand …

You may now register your motorcycle online for the May 23, 2015, Riding Into History Concours d’Elegance!  As always, there is no entry fee for qualified motorcycles, great gifts and outstanding awards.  This is an antique, vintage and classic motorcycle event. However, significant post-1990 motorcycles; limited edition models, and those of historic interest may be accepted for display only. Acceptance into RIH is at the discretion of the organizers.  There is a limit of 350 motorcycles. Riding Into History is happy to announce that you may now sell products at our event. World Golf Village has amended their policy on selling at their venue. The products that may be sold cannot be in conflict with what they offer. The World Golf Village will vet vendors. Vendors will need to sign a waiver and pay any sales taxes as required by the State of Florida. Registration for vendors is available on our web site under registration forms.

Riding Into History is unveiling the 2015 artwork. Internationally renowned artist Don Bradley has again provided us with a magnificent motorcycle and model. We are celebrating British motorcycles this year. Our theme is “Rule Britannia”. Don captures our theme with this art called. “Racing with the Stars”. This picture depicts an all-star cast with a 1956 BSA Goldstar at the last year of the Clubman on the Isle of Man. BSA motorcycles dominated the Clubman race. No one else could compete. Thus ending the Clubman race at Isle of Man.

Riding Into History is excited to announce David Aldana as the 2015 Grand Marshal! David Aldana is a motorcycle racer who specialized in dirt track oval racing and road racing. One of the most colorful personalities in racing, David Aldana was a top AMA Grand National Series competitor during the 1970s, winning four AMA nationals during his career. The classic motorcycling documentary, “On Any Sunday,” caught snippets of Aldana’s rookie season and it conveyed his brash and carefree attitude. Hope everyone has had a wonderful safe summer riding motorcycles.  I’ve been busy traveling and enjoying the summer.  The photographs for Riding Into History 2014 are on the web site under media 2014.  Please look over the photos of the 2014 event.  Since I am back in town, the Charity store has reopened.  We still have a few t-shirts and posters from the 2014 event. Each year, our goal is to organize a world-class event and give a donation to a worthy charity. This is our first year contributing to K9s for Warriors. With all the help and support from our sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and spectators, we were able to make a $40K donation to K9s for Warriors.  The Weaver Foundation has pledged to match our donation.  The donation was made at the American Legion 233 in Ponte Vedra, FL on June 19, 2014 at the graduation ceremony for the June warriors and their dogs.  Riding Into History volunteers were there in force!  K9s For …

It was another fantastic year at Riding Into History! The 15th annual Riding Into History was a great success. The Grand Marshal Historic Ride, the Grand Marshal Dinner and the Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance were all lots of fun. The weather was spectacular, and couldn’t have been better. We could not have asked for a better Grand Marshal in Dave Despain. Also having special guest of honor, Nobby Clark made our event extra special.
