Riding Into History helped with the new motorcycle exhibit at the Ponte Vedra Auto Show on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the TPC at Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.  John Duss, a member of the Board of Directors for Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and president of Riding Into History, invited special motorcycles from around the area. There were 12 unique and rare motorcycles covering over 100 years of time.  The oldest bike on exhibit was Norm Nelson’s 1911 Reading Standard, which he will ride for the 2016 coast-to-coast Motorcycle Cannonball featuring motorcycles 100 years old or older.  Jack Wells brought …

Thanks to World Golf Hall of Fame, an opportunity arose to move the date of Riding Into History 2016 up a week.  We took the new date available.  The new dates for Riding Into History 2016 are:  Friday, May 20, 2016 for the Grand Marshal Vintage Ride and Grand Marshal Dinner at Shell Hall in the World Golf Hall of Fame and Saturday, May 21, 2016 for the Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance.

On July 23, 2015, Riding Into History had the honor of donating $40,000 to K9s For Warriors!  This is our second year of making a $40K donation to K9s For Warriors.  We presented our donation at the new K9s For Warriors facility in the Nocatee community in Ponte Vedra, FL. We were able to attend the first graduation class of K9s For Warriors at their brand new home.  The class that graduated consisted of 4 female Air Force warriors and 4 female Army warriors.  The new K9s For Warriors home has accommodations to train 16 warriors and dogs at one …

It was another spectacular year at Riding Into History!  The 16th annual Riding Into History was a great success.  The Grand Marshal Historic Ride, the Grand Marshal Dinner and the Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance were all sold out.  We reached capacity on every event.  The weather was spectacular, and couldn’t have been better.  David Aldana, our Grand Marshal is a genuine personality who really connected with our guests and spectators!  Technical advisor, Brian Slark from the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum was on hand to help judge the motorcycles of the concours. Riding Into History is right around the corner.  We have some special displays for you this year.  As I mentioned in a previous newsletter we will have 10 racing motorcycles from The Hollingsworth Race Team. TWO Twin- Engine Triumphs! Legendary racer Bud Hare built Dübble Trübble.  This 1953 twin-engine Triumph drag raced in the 1950’s with top speeds of over 140 mph!  This motorcycle raced at the Bonneville Salt Flats at 157 mph! Last year Riding Into History was able to donate $40K to our charity, K9s For Warriors.  This program provides service dogs to warriors suffering from PTSD and/or Traumatic Brain Injury.  The service dogs are trained and then paired with warriors and train for another 3 weeks with their new owner.  The dogs used are 95% rescue or shelter dogs.     Riding Into History was honored to name two dogs.  Our first dog, Triumph and his new owner Joseph just graduated the program last week.   RIH showed up in force to support our new team!  It is such a moving …

RIH has created beautiful calendars and postcards honoring Don and his artwork. All 12 of the poster designs he did are included in the set of a dozen postcards, and the 2016 calendar has all of those illustrations plus a beautiful Christmas card design. We are selling them for $20 for either the postcards or calendar.  Royalties go to Sally Bradley, and proceeds to K9s for Warriors. Riding Into History is excited to announce a special display of motorcycles from the Hollingsworth Race Team from St. Augustine, FL.  The Hollingsworth Race Team races motorcycles at the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association circuits all over the U.S There will be a collection of 10 Aermacchi Harley Davidson and Harley Davidson race bikes from the Hollingsworth Race Team.  There will also be memorabilia of motorcycle racing from the past.  It should be a fun display of motorcycles with history.
