Inspired by the 1937 move “Lost Horizon”, starring Ronald Colman and Jane Wyatt.  Robert Conway (Colman) and companions were escaping war torn China via an airplane when they crashed in the Himalayas.  They found their way to Shangri-La, where people lived 300+ years.

The girl in the painting is holding a compass rose in her let hand and the needle in her right.
